The Nursery Reveal

As of yesterday the nursery is officially DONE! It’s a little surreal sitting in a house being on maternity leave with a completely finished nursery… waiting. Its good that I’m waiting this means my babies are getting bigger and stronger every day that goes by but I Can.Not.Wait. I know it will be harder than it is now, I won’t be sitting at home alone… bored, I will be tired most defiantly… Tired with a capitol T! But regardless we are ready. We are ready to see, touch, smell, care, and LOVE these babies for as long as we both shall live. (Wait is that the wrong saying? Winking smile seems to work for me!)

Okay on to the real deal… here are a TON of pictures that Megs helped me get together yesterday to debut on the blog… Enjoy!

Because this helped me so much while searching other blogs and Pinterest I listed a source list at the end of this post!

Cribs bought and painted by Grandma and Grandpa Lange! Crib sheets and skirts were sewn by yours truly. The Fabric is from Craft Warehouse but can be found online too. Wait I lied… the crib skirt fabric and Baby Girls sheet fabric are both from the Moda Hullabaloo line found at Craft Warehouse… but Baby Boys crib sheet fabric is from Fabric Depot in Portland. I don’t remember what line it was from but its nothing fancy just blue with tiny grey dots.

The closet was custom built by the one and only Brad Reynoso. After lots of planning, re-configuring, and budgeting we came up with the plan you see. 1 Ikea Malm dresser, 2 sheets of Melamine Board, some brackets, caulk, and trim paint and you got your self a custom closet fit for twins!

This dresser mirror combo was one I found at a garage sale when we first bought our house and had painted a heirloom white. We (slash) I thought it was too yellow for the room so we repainted it with 1/4 of a leftover cream color I had mixed with 3/4 of pure white trim paint. Turned out perfect and no additional paint was bought! To jazz it up a bit I painted the hardware blue and sprayed it after with a high gloss clear coat. I did this with several accessories in the room including the cast iron hooks you see around and a iron airplane.

The mobiles were made by me and assembled with help from Meg (yesterday) It was the last thing I needed to get done and for some reason I put it off for so long. It really wasn’t too hard to complete but defiantly needed an artistic eye like Megs. At this point I have more of a … “ehhh looks good! Lets just get it done” type attitude and she really pulled me together.

In case you like this DIY project it was really easy. I got two embroidery hoops and used the part that didn’t have the tightening hardware on it to use as my hoops. I stained them with some wood stain I had in the garage. Then fashioned the yarn to make it hang. The yarn balls are just that! Although the large and medium ones do have a foam center. You can buy the foam balls at Wal-Mart, Joanne’s, or any other craft store. I wrapped the yarn around them and then used straight pins to secure the end into the ball.

Meg also pulled together these prints for me.. which I LOVE. Sock monkeys were a gift from Aunt Katie and the other sock animals are from Cousins Nolan and Jacklin. Smile

Tiny TOMS from Aunt Lexie!

{left} Brad’s Diaper Dude diaper bag from my parents. {right} Print designed by Megan again.. I erased Baby Boys name … It looks better with the name in there but not quite yet! Winking smile She also made one for Baby Girl but apparently I didn’t get a picture of it… it’s the same but landscape and pink with a bird. As Megs would say… “It’s Adorbs”

They have quite the wardrobe already

Giraffe cutie is from Aunt Kristen and Uncle Travis!

Changing station compliments of Great Aunt Angie!

The picture here on the right shows the difference in sheen or finish that we choose for the walls vs. the polk-a-dots.

This vintage owl night light was refurbished and gifted to me from my Grandpa. It was originally his mothers, the babies Great Great Grandmother. He cleaned it all up and even converted the battery operated nightlight light that no longer worked properly into a wired plug in night light that is the perfect glow for the nursery. I love it and it is so so special! When I get brave enough Grandpa wants me to re paint the surrounding of the eyes that has worn off. Seems like a lot of pressure to me! Winking smile

Here are two calendars that I have hung behind the door to the nursery that provide stickers for all the things the babies are sure to do in the first year. My Mom did this for me when I was a baby and it proved to be a good easy way to remember and record everything that happens so quickly in their little lives.

The babies first bracelet and ring handmade by my Grandpa out of coins and silver dollars. It’s amazing how this is done!

The clothing is just “too much” I tell you… I can’t get over it. WAY too many people to thank for all of these! Baby girl may have a bit more [cough] Aunt Jessica! Winking smile

That bag is packed and we are ready to go! Even Franks is getting a little bored these days!

Car seats? Check!

A gift from Grammy and Papa Reynoso, Ma and Pa, and Aunt Racquel and Uncle Casey!

Brad, the babies, and I are SO BLESSED to have so many supportive and loving family and friends in our lives. I really do not know what we would do without you ALL! We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the advice, support, and overwhelming amount of gifts you have provided!

We are so ready for this! BRING ON THE BABIES!!!
