Tonight I am 17 weeks and 3 days along! I found a set of questions on another blog that seemed to give a good update so I am going to try it… although I reserve the right to NOT post my “Total Weight Gain” at ANY point!
Speaking of weight gain I have been asked quite a few times what is recommended for twins. I have been learning all this twin stuff right along with everyone trust me! I looked it up specifically for you and this is what the consensus is…
“Most practitioners advise women to gain 35 to 45 pounds during a multiple pregnancy (a little less if you were overweight pre-pregnancy; a little more if you were underweight). That’s nearly 50 percent more than what’s recommended in a singleton pregnancy (talk about heavy lifting!). But before you run screaming at the thought of that much extra bulk, consider how these numbers break down: Ten to 12 pounds of it will be babies. Then there’s extra blood volume, amniotic fluid, and water weight — so dropping 30 pounds two weeks after delivering twins is not uncommon, as all that excess fluid is eliminated. At that point, you’ll be in the same boat as your friends who had one baby: trying to get rid of that last 10 to 15 pounds.” via
Brad also pointed out yesterday that I haven’t wrote in my pregnancy journal in well over a month… possibly longer… so selfishly enough these posts are mostly for me to be able to look back on. So WHEN you get tired of reading about my pregnancy, I don’t blame you.
Total Weight Gain: 11lbs
Symptoms: Back aches, heartburn, and aching shoulder joints (weird huh?)
Stretch Marks: Not yet… But I did have a dream that they broke out EVERYWHERE!
Sleep: Good, averaging about 3 potty runs throughout the night.
Best Moment Last Week: Thanksgiving!!!
Movement: I am pretty sure I have been feeling them for about a month now… but more often baby on my right. I can’t remember if that is baby A or B. Oops.
Cravings: Ummm… leftover Thanksgiving dinner! And Mongolian Grill always sounds good.
What I Miss: Being able to sleep on my back.
What am I looking forward to: FRIDAY and SATURDAY!!! Friday we have our 18 week Doctor appointment and an Ultrasound. Saturday we have our GENDER reveal party where we will ALL find out the gender of our babies! IF you would like to stream in to find out right along with us BFFL Megan (who is throwing the party) will be streaming it LIVE, mostly for my Brother, Sister in law and Cousin who can’t make it!
CLICK HERE Saturday December 3rd @ approx 4:00 to watch!
Milestones: Making it though my first cold of the season.
How is Daddy? Great! has even handed out a handful of back rubs here and there!
